how do i convert and burn an mpeg4 that will play on a standalone dvd player and what progams do i use

Unles you have one of the very rare DVD players that can handle mpeg-4 (only 1 so far I believe and its expensive) you can't.Originally Posted by tim

Can't say I have on of those players myself so I am not familiar with their capabilities but from what I have read they are a bit limited. AFAIK you have to encode with divx 4.x or 5.x, within some limits on parameters the simply burn to CD as a normal data disk. There are no stand alone MPEG4 players yet as far as I know. There is a DivX one (the KISS thing), but that's quite another story, and we're so not getting there... There are MPEG4 encoders out there and misc utilities, even guides. Time for some reading it seems.
