    i want to be able to rip a section of the movie sounds from it. gawd hard to say. there is this movie i like and this dude said some funny things and i want to cut that from it and convert it to mp3 format.

    go here and convert your avi to wav... http://www.vcdhelp.com/virtualdubaudio.htm ...then you can use Audacity (a music editing program) to try to cut that certain part of the movie out of the entire file
