  1. Hi everyone,

I’ve noticed that DigitalFAQ.com is currently down. Instead of the usual website, I’m getting a Plesk default page.

Does anyone know what’s happening? Is this a temporary server issue?

The site is an important resource for VHS restoration and digitization.

    Thanks!

  3. Yes, it definitely down, despite AI saying it is running if you ask google.

Explanation I received from one of the admins was that there was a server/RAID issue. Doesn't sound like any data was lost or anything, but it's essentially down for upgrades for now. Didn't sound like there was a specific ETA as far as when it'd be back up and running though.

    Yes, it is down.
    Yes, it is temporary.

    - Thurs afternoon, the RAID array starting to throw async.
    - We tried to quickly grab a few files Thurs night, reboot for attempted RAID resync. The OS panicked instead.
    - So by Fri am, trying to manually resync RAID, boot OS. Both failed.
    - So by Fri afternoon, data recovery mode, new server allocated.
    - Sat and Sun have been spent migrating files.
    - Sun night will be spent testing the new environment. Then just ASAP, the site put back online, Mon/Tues ETA.

The site is about 25 years old now. It's like steering a barge. I know Baldrick can relate.

100% of the data is intact, and it's backed up daily.
It'll just take some time to get the new server settings running as needed. Wee hours Tues a.m. is the target.

I noticed VH was down again overnight. Baldrick, you okay?
