Hi, I started reworking the interlace detection function in Hybrid and I want to see whether I can get it do detect 29.97 NTSC content that was created from PAL, but I'm lacking samples to test on.
So if someone has such sources and can share short 5-30 sec samples that would be nice.

For soft pulldown, you can use DGPulldown to create one.
"DGPulldown is useful for applying traditional 3:2 pulldown. It is also useful for converting 25fps PAL progressive material to NTSC. It allows you to encode your movie to MPEG2 at 25fps using progressive encoding. This saves a lot of bits and therefore allows for much better quality with the same bit budget. Also, compared to methods that first slow down the video and then apply 3:2 pulldown, there is no need to process the audio."
If you are looking for hard pulldown post again to let us know. -
Yes, I'm looking for hard-pulldown files, where the flags don't let you know that there actually is a PAL source behind it.

But DGPulldown will be handy for some other tests. (totally forgot that it existed) Thanks.

Then I would also need an mpeg-2 encoder (haven't touched one of those of ages,..), I hoped someone had a few clips for this from some dvd or tv streams.

But thanks for the suggestion, I might have to fall back to it.

For 25i PAL to 29.94i NTSC hard telecine (non-standard telecine) try something like
or for standard 2-3 pulldown tryCode:#25i PAL source AssumeTFF() QTGMC(Preset="Fast",lossless=1) # 25i to 50p spline36resize(720,480) #NTSC ChangeFPS(60.0) #progressive with every 5th frame repeated Separatefields().selectevery(4,0,3).weave() #30fps 2-4 pulldown (non-standard) AssumeFPS(30000,1001,sync_audio=true) #slowdown
Code:#25i PAL source AssumeFPS(24,sync_audio=true) #slowdown 25i->24i AssumeTFF() QTGMC() #24i -> 48p spline36resize(720,480) #NTSC compliant size ChangeFPS(60) #60p, every 4th frame repeated separatefields().selectevery(4,0,3).weave() #re-interlace 30i AssumeFPS(30000,1001,sync_audio=true) #29.97i
