Kodak Reels Film Digitizer not saving videos on memory card

Hello! I'm facing some issues regarding this device.
It can't save any video on the memory card. I've deleted and reseted its settings, but when I put some reel to capture, it always says "sorry, no video found". I've plugged the device to my PC and it doesn't show nothing recorded. It's frustrating, 'cause I've imported and I'm seeing any place that can help me on this.
My memory card is 16Gb.

Any help will be appreciated.

it seems that putting a 128gb card worked for a 10 second sample of video. But when I recorded 15min video uninterruptedly, it saved a 1Gb file that don't play on VLC, doesnt open on Adobe Premiere, neither on media player classic or movAvi video converter.
So what happened?

someone said to buy and test a SDHC 32Gb card, not micro SD cards. I'll do it.
One importante notice: The device frozen the screen with a black screen asking to reset. Twice. I shut the power off, restarted and on its preview only showed the 10 seconds test video and 2 black files that doesn't open.

You do not need a microsd card. For memory use the SD card slot (1)

The kodak has a micro usb slot (2). This slot is to connect this device to a PC for file transfer.
Use a cable from the micro usb slot to your PC.

Please RTFM (read the fuc**ng manual)

Hey, I've already read the manual, it doesn't help on anything. Be helpful.
What made you think I was not using the SD slot, so what would have I thought to be recording? MicroSD cards also exists, that's the ones I was using an adapter for it (the 128Gb and 16Gb). Did.Not.Work.

Try formatting the card as FAT32. If the device has its own option in the menu for formatting a card, use that.

There could be something wrong with your SD card.
There are fake sd cards. The card will report a storage space of 128GB but it only has storage for 16GB.

You can check the SD card storage space with this utility https://www.grc.com/validrive.htm

You can try formatting the SD card as FAT32. This will also limit the file size to 4GB. So a recording can not exceed the 4GB limit.
To overcome this limitation format the SD card as exFAT.

I agree with the three & now 4 suggestions to format the card to FAT32.
For testing do not try to create a video larger than 4GB.

For the microSD vs a SD card. They make adapters that hold a microSD that are SD size.

The device has an option to delete the memory card, I don't know if it formats as FAT32. I was told that micro SD with adapters are not good for camera devices, so I've bought a Sandisk 32gb 100mb/s Full Hd Sdhc Uhs-l. I'm waiting to arrive, so I can check if the problem is with the memory card. If it's not, I have to return and ask for another device, as there are no other thought that I bought a defective one.

I have never tried an adapter with my digital camera. It came with a SD card & that has always worked.

Plug your SD card into your computer. Assuming to have a slot for the card or have an adapter to USB for your computer.
If you are using Windows Right click on the card in Windows Explorer. Select Properties. You should see the format of the card.
If your SD card has never been formatted then that probably explains the problem.

Your device may not be able to use a Full Hd Sdhc Uhs-l.

You said "The device frozen the screen with a black screen asking to reset. Twice." That is not normal operation regardless of what kind of SD card you use. I think the device is simply broken. If possible, try updating or reflashing the firmware. Is it still under warranty coverage?

I can return to the seller. I have the right to do it till the end of this month.
I think it's broken, but I'll have to check with those memory cards.

Try formatting the card as FAT32. If the device has its own option in the menu for formatting a card, use that.

FAT32 by OS limitations maxes out at 32GB, typically flash memory at 32 GB or less is by default preformated as FAT32.

FAT32 also has a slightly less than 4 GB file size limitation, not 4 GB and generally for best compatibility keeping the the files size to 2 GB or less is much more reliable, most devices are smart enough to close the current file in use and then create a new file to continue the recording to get past the files size FAT32 issue.. However, some devices may choke and puke once they hit that FAT32 size limitation.

Flash memory larger than 32 GB is by default preformated using EX-FAT to get around the FAT32 limitations.

However, one should note and understand that not ALL devices are able to read/write or use or support EX-FAT and may result in corrupted unusable files.

Believe it or not, for best compatibility it may be better to reformat the card using NTFS (NT File System) which gets around the FAT32 size limitations and is more compatible and reliable than EX-FAT.

Kodak does not specify FAT 32, EX-FAT or NTFS but with a claim of 128 GB I suspect it will handle NTFS.

Format the card using a PC, then put the card in the Kodak unit, if it asks to format, let it format. Many devices the "format" isn't really formatting the card, but just setting up device specific folders for the device to use.

A little side note, unless the device is using some odd proprietary or copy protected protected file setup you should also be able to plug the memory card into a computer card reader and view or copy the files directly from the card to the PC without the need to hook up the device to your PC or use special software.

No, FAT32 has a 4 GB size limit. Some programs have a 2 GB limit because they use signed 32 bit integers rather than unsigned 32 bit integers for file sizes.

Actually, FAT32 can be forced into single 1 TB FAT32 partition, just could not do that via built in Windows format...

I HAVE done that many years a go with XP using cloning/imaging software..

However, one should understand that just because you can, doesn't mean EVERY device or OS is able to read/write to that partition reliably and you will run into issues with the max file size limit which Win11 doesn't fix..

EX-FAT was developed to get around FAT32 issues, but it is a compromise at best and once again, not always supported.

Like it or not, NTFS gets around FAT limitations and pretty well supported by non Windows devices.. The only exceptions I have found have been most car stereos, MP3 players and early 2000 digital cameras and strangely enough Android OS versions still do not natively support NTFS..

I've finally received the micro-SD card. It finally worked!
Someone just said that modern camera devices has a 32Gb limit. I just purchased the 128Gb first, with a thought that a large memory space would save me from any problem... I was wrong. So, a friend lent me a used and 7yr old 16Gb SD Card, so I thought the big space was the problem, but I've discovered his card had was broken. I've sent messages to the seller, he didn't know how to solve it. So, I sent a message do Kodak support, they didn't even know it.
I've just returned the SDHC card, no need for that. The micro SD just helped me alot!

That's good. I won't buy a 64gb to test it. 32gb fits so well that I'll use til I die.
