    BDs are very sensitive for fingerprints or other impurities. Not all videos readable anymore ...

    It does help : Use one way soft cloth for cleaning screens + 2 Drops Dishwashing detergent (as you did use for cleaning your LPs) + hand warm water.
    Use the soft cloth + the water (very wet, as you would clean a dinner plate.
    Wash up the BD with clean warm water, same temperature.
    Dry the BD with a kitchen paper towel.
    I only press lightly the BD on the paper, no wishing. But all water drops must be removed.
    Check whether all impurities are removed and the BD is totally dry and no "white" resistance applied.

    I have over 500 self recorded BDs, and if the pollution was the BD reading problem, it could be solved, by the given cleaning process.
