  1. As opposed to VOD streams which i can capture using many different tools, live streams seem an entirely different beast. To be fair VOD streams are also for the most part each a unique case, but live streams (which i recently got more interested in) seem even more complicated in capturing. I want this thread to be general and not specific about a stream or service.
For example, one thing i noticed trying to capture a live stream with Video DownloadHelper, was that the starting time of captured stream did not match the time i pressed start. Perhaps not the best example and certainly there are tools more suited for live streams that i am unaware of?
What if there is no m3u8 or mpd to be seen on DevTools?
If some of you could provide some grounds up knowledge that would be awesome.

  3. Thanks but a Trialware that does a worse job than Video DownloadHelper is hardly helping. At least with Video DownloadHelper i can record the whole audio/video, just the starting position and sometimes syncing does not match. With TubeDigger it saved the audio and video into separate streams and with limited time.

At least it works. You can mux both the audio and video into one file without a problem.
It is very cheap application and worth paying for it. Search for a discount coupon first.

  5. If they aren't encrypted use Streamlink, it can handle most live streams. For encrypted I use ffmpeg/ffplay. You can handle most live streams with those 2.

    Generally there's always an m3u8/mpd.

Then record in "Rec Mode" if you do not want to provide URL for testing.

  7. @Tubedigger sorry i was using it wrongly. Your software actually does the job. Congrats!
I was stopping the download instead of finishing it, and the audio stream never finished correctly, contrary to the video which had a time limit. And so i could not mux them. It detects 3 video streams (different resolutions) and 1 audio stream. Rec mode does not do anything though. I can't provide more details as it is a private site.
It would be better if it muxed automatically the audio and video streams though. And honestly i think you could also do some UI improvements for version 8.
I still find it a little pricey since all my other video processing tools are free and open source, but well it works!
