I've gotten emails for things like that and very other possible financial type calamity. It's the same people calling you on the phone claiming to be XYZ support that are sending the email. It's a multi billion dollar "industry" centered in India. They only need to hook one person for mere $400 and it's more than the average monthly salary.

The typical scam is they get people to install Teamviewer or similar software that gives them complete access to computer. Then they get them to login into bank, the scammer uses the browsers developer console to make HTML edit to the transaction page.

If you believe an email may be legitimate using only your browser go to that institutions page for contact information. If it's phone call ask for a phone number you can call them back, one can be confirmed as legitimate from the banks/business web site.

It's really easy to find the bogus messages cause the senders e-mail address is usually so long and doesn't say anything about where it came from except for some weird areas.
