  1. I hope billybanana is alright. Ozivine is a terrific program and I am grateful for it and hopefully it continues for a long time yet.

  2. Indeed - Ozivine is solid and very useful work, and be a real shame for it to disappear. Fingers crossed he is just taking a break or something.

  4. Is there another method to download videos from 7plus.com.au? It looks like ozivine has been removed from github.

yt-dlp. Unless you come across a protected video.

  8. Cheers for that, I'll back it up for my own use. Any ideas on who's gonna maintain it now that its unmaintained?

  9. No idea really. Like many, I imagine, I have made my own similar thing to help with these sorts of tasks, but Ozivine was a lot better so to be honest I'd mostly been using that vs my own efforts.

It's a bit odd as there was this statement: https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/418707-All-downloaders-going-defunct#post2778962

And then, not really very long after & with no further word etc., it and billybanana just seemingly dropped off the map.

  10. Yeah, I tried going through the wayback machine to see if I could get 1.9. It's last scrape was August 17th, just after 1.7 was released. The next scrape was October 8th, and it was already gone. Shame, as I'm trying to find a way to grab higher resolution episodes off Aus FTA streaming sites. yt-dlp limiting them to 540p, and trying to watch them on a 4k TV? Nah, even on a 1080p TV, still a bit blurry.

    What sites are you trying?

ABC is 1080p for most of its content now.
SBS is the worst with low bandwidth 720p
    7plus is 720p
    9now is 720p
    10play has 1080p with a little work

I used YT-DLP to get a couple episodes of RFDS off of 7Plus. When I went to play them on Kodi on the TV in the lounge, it said it was 540p. When I checked them again on the TV in the games room, it also said 540p. When I re-ripped them with Ozivine, it got them as 720p. So yeah, YT-dlp is limiting them in resolutions.

  13. yt-dlp doesn't limit it. if you are not signed into 7plus and pass the cookies to yt-dlp you don't get 720p. Its a limitation from the 7plus site, not yt-dlp. Ozivine may have used a different extraction method of the m3u8 than yt-dlp does but its not a yt-dlp issue.

  14. Ozivine is a terrific program and has been quite useful to me. I am thinking billybanana has hooked up with Matilda and is waltzing all over Australia.

Fair enough. I could never get yt-dlp to work for Australian FTA sites, even when passing cookies. Not sure why, but I did think it was PEBCAK/ID10T errors. Glad to know it was. I'll stick with Ozivine for now, until somthing breaks.

Thanks for the info, I'll try again with yt-dlp when I need to.
