when encoding a movie, what is the formula i need to be able to plug in the movie length for 2-pass VBR and figure out how large the end result will be?

	try using FitCD. I've found it to be a pretty accurate bitrate calc for CQ and 2 pass.

	Fit CD is indeed an accurate calcultaor,just remember that it's the average bitrate that determines the file length not the maximum or minimum.

	Bearson's Bitrate calculator is one of the best I've used.
