Hi,

I tried to run the command „yt-dlp https://www.fau.tv/clip/id/3444“ at https://ytdlp.online/ytdlp-help.html but it failed. The same command is OK with local yt-dlp. Why?

works here when i just put the URL in the box. "it failed" is not much to go on. copy/paste what yt-dlp says when you run it there.

there's no failure there, it's in the process of downloading ...

It was quite easy for me to produce an error: press "Reset" while downloading and restart the download. I got an error 403 while doing so (forgot to add "-N 4" parameter).

If that was the error the OP saw, then there's not much you can do except probably wait some time before you try again. The ytdlp.online server surely is hosted in a data center, and Uni Erlangen (fau.tv) probably has measures in place to protect against misuse. Like Youtube does with data center IP's.

The last two updates brought unexpected surprises! Low and high resolution AAC audio formats have completely disappeared from the download list.
I was waiting for today's update, I thought that the previous botched work would be fixed, but no, everything is still the same

Today's update is no exception. It seems to me that the developers have encountered a real problem that needs to be solved.

Today's update is no exception. I downloaded it, unpacked it, launched it, and tried it.
The problems are the same. Of all available audio formats, only medium bitrate is available for M4a!
I deleted it and reinstalled the old version, which works as it should, and has both low and high bitrates.

and today another update was released that did not solve the problem of selecting audio streams.
There's probably a big battle going on to decrypt YouTube streams. Previous version of yt-dlp no longer works. This is only possible if the YouTube programmers are constantly changing something in the stream encoding.

There should be m4a audio format of low and high quality, as it was in the previous version of ytdlp

From personal experience on other sites, when it appears like this in the list (see screenshot), it's because there is only one audio file. I wish they had changed something on the site, in the sense that now there is only one audio file.

There is no reference to any other audio file in the playlist.

It's ridiculous, every week I download one audio from my subscription thread, and I have checked those low bitrates formats that I already downloaded. And what's funny that new version of UT-DLP can't extract them from YouTube now! And there are only two options: YouTube deleted all the formats with low and high bitrates, or UT-DLP can't extract them, and I'm inclined to believe that UT-DLP is the culprit.

if you have a problem with yt-dlp, why don't you complain in their issue tracker instead of complaining here over and over again, where no one can really help you?
