  1. I'm new to ripping dvd's and what not. The tutorials on here are excellent, however I just want to take the files ripped from the dvd and put them into an AVI file. I don't want the avi file to be any bigger than lets say 750mb....and i know that depeneds on the length of the movie. I hope someone can help, thanks in advance.

  2. That tutorial uses the program DVDx 1.7 , that program is no longer free....

    Wrong the program is still free, they just dont host the file

    from their website--DVDx is still freeware and you might be able to find it from numerous alternative free servers

    Another nice free app is EasyDivX, that using (I must admit that even I sometimes get lazy) a few pints and clicks, produces very nice DivX versions of a DVD.
