So the hard drive on my Philips DVDR 3455h (Argentine model so /55) died so i looked up a guide on how to replace it. Everything went well until the part where it said i had to burn the firmware files to a CD in order to reinstall them into the hard drive. The files are nowhere to be seen. I remember them being in Philip's page some time ago but now the whole DVDR3455h section is gone on all pages and i can't find any archive of it or the firmware file.
Does anyone have such files/knows where i could get them? Either that or a way to replace the HDD without having to reflash the firmware.

I'll add to this, the hard drive isn't completely dead, but it's on it's way out and making weird noises, can i maybe copy the files from the old HDD to a new one of the same capacity?

try clonezilla - its a free partition copy utility. boot in a desktop via CD or USB drive and maybe you get lucky
