I get malicious software detected when I attempted to download TS-Doctor

Ok. Normally with AV I get an option to "keep" but not in this case, very strict. I tried older download, same.

I've been using it for 10 years and no virus or warnings of any kind, I use Malwarebytes. I would report it to Norton's as a false positive but don't hold your breath!

How does the A/V know it's malicious otherwise?

There was nothing in my downloads folder.

Have you tried again since? If it was a false positive, they had plenty of time to update their definitions.
If it's denied based on file reputation (file not seen in the wild since it was brand new) that's a different thing.

Denying a file on reputation can usually be relaxed or turned off in the settings.

Hi Davexnet. I attempted twice yesterday and in both cases the AV blocked the download. I checked the AV history just now and there are 2 items that may be when I attempted to download the file.

I would contact the vendor support either directly or forum and ask for an explanation.
I noticed the link via Videohelp is actually downloading from a site in Germany - maybe it's
the link it doesn;t like.

Downloaded and installed ok. Some German stuff at the end of the install, I didn't check any of those boxes, guessing it's an option to download some more trial S/W.

I am interested in the ability to automatically remove ads.

There is an awful lot to this util, I'll have a good look at it tomorrow.

What are the limitations of the trial version?
How many machines can the paid version be installed on?
Is it a perpetual licence?

If you need help with TSDoctor, start a new thread and somebody familiar with the program
may jump in.

Same malicious software link issues for all 3 links.

Reason for delay in replying is (probably not connected) the XMG laptop that I attempted to download the TS-Doctor file a few days ago completely died. So I wanted to click on these 3 links on a different (Acer) older laptop.

Before doing that I have been busy creating backup images.

I found that there were several dialogs with only German language in TS-Doctor. That could be a problem going forward.

May not be related, took ~ 1-2 days to recover the XMG laptop boot drive and restore the 2 x 4TB SSD raid data.
The XMG just dies, no warning. Pressing power button then only lights the led for power button for less than 20 seconds. No activity whatsoever. No option to go into bios. Happened a second time now a few minutes ago. Dead. Lots of work ahead again.

I also lost 2 -3 hours work, redid today on XMG but kept saving so nothing lost.

I have been using TS Doctor ever since I put on a satellite dish years ago and it is a very safe and great software.
I never liked any of the Antivirus software especially Norton and I have been using only the Microsoft Defender Antivirus and it is doing a really good job so far.
What happens when you try to download any other software applications or is this only happening with TS Doctor?

Here is the email that I got after I purchased the software. It will bypass filling a support form.
Perhaps the developer can help you find the reason for this odd warning. Maybe it is a language thing but this is just a wild guess.

TS Doctor has options to delete commercials but they are not reliable for automatic usage. I delete unwanted adverts manually. They are are quite easy once you get the hang of it. If you enable automatic thumbnails, then you can jot down roughly the start and end of unwanted sections then go to "Select cutting" and mark the start and end times (even by frame you will see +1F or -1F).

Thanks to Davexnet I have a working copy of SW to play with. I've found it really good at identifying the ads. I then used the panes over on the right side with start and stop times to adjust times more finely.

I have been using various methods for several years also and my latest is of course not as sophisticated as this SW, lots of steps.

The German language thing is surprising.

Anyway, better make a start on my XMG.
