  1. I don't want to crop in software, I want to be able to shoot that aspect ratio in camera. I know 720x480 is standard NTSC, but I can think of a Canon digicam from 10+ years ago that shoots 4:3 video at a higher resolution. I want more control than I would get using a Powershot, though. I think I remember hearing that the HVX200A can shoot at 1280 x 960 but I'd love to find a solution that didn't involve a need for p2 cards. Maybe I'm looking for unobtainium. I'm not sure, but I thought this would be the place to find out.

  2. Can't most Apple and Android phones shoot in 4:3? I bet it is also better quality than 10 year old cameras. And a lot easier to carry around.
