Howdy,
I am new to VCD and i'm trying to make a cd and I follow the directions on VCDHelp.com exsplicitly but I can't seem to get anythign to work. Everytime I burn a cd and try to run it i get a disc error on my DVD player. I know it's not my DVD player because it does support VCD, I checked to make sure. So I must be doing something wrgong while trying to make it. I know this much info probably isn't enough to help anyone help me get the problem resolved so I'll post my steps that I use.
1. Downloaded some Jackass episodes, in a .mpeg format.
2. Downloaded TMPGEnc and encoded it.
3. Opened Nero and selected Video File.
4. Put the new formated episode in, and
5. Wrote the cd at 2x speed (i heard the lower the better)
6. Try to watch it, get "disc error"
Any help would be greatly appriciated. If anyone would need more info please ask and I'll post.
Thanks,
Dan

Fast Build,
Maybe your DVD player doesn't support CD-R? If this is the case, try CD-RW. The way I understand it CD-RW uses a laser that is similar in wavelength to the laser used to read DVD. Or it could be that your DVD player only supports pressed VCD. It would help if we knew what model DVD player you have.
