Does any one Know how to encrese the volume on a VCD complient movei. My Problem is after Ripping a DVD using smartripper 2.41 and then converting it to VCD using DVDx 2.0 the volume is low this apens on every DVD I ripp. I've searched the web for info on this but all I've found is info on icreasing the volume on a Divx movie. I don't want to go to all the bovver of ripping the DVD, converting it to Divx increaing the volume and then converting it to a VCD I just want to increse the volume on my VCD complient movies. Thanks to any one whoe knows the answer.

There is an audio level option on the input menu of DVDx.
Also if you frameserve the output from DVDx to TMPGenc there is an option to adjust the audio.
There's not much to do but then I can't do much anyway.

I had the same problem but I use different s/w. I use dvd2avi and then TMPGEnc. As the previous poster said, you can boost the volume in TMPG, but I set the 'normalize' option in dvd2avi and this solved my low volume problem. If DVDx also has a normalize option, try it.

There's a file called guide.html in the same directory as DVDx look at it and if you have any questions start a new thread "DVDx questions" or something like that.

There a simple section on frameserving using the aviwrapper but you can also use avisynth if you want to add scripts (but thats a little more difficult to start).

I'll be glad to help when I can.

Thanks for your help, I also have another question I hope you can answer, I was given some DIVx movies on CDs by my mate they are very good quality, but when I convert them to VCD Complent movies using TMPGEnc the picture quality degrades looking all washed out and like a frosty look to them. Do you know how I can convert them to VCD keeping the same good quality as the Divx file. thanks
