  1. Hey all, long time reader first time poster here. I have a Apex AD-3201 and I've been wanting to burn my movies on xSVCD. This site says that my dvd player can play xSVCD's. I downloaded the xSVCD sample and burned it onto a disc, but when I tried to play it all that happened was a bunch of colored squares, scrambed and distorted. What does/did that mean? Thanks.

  2. Hi!

I have the same APEX and have been fighting the same issues trying to create a CVD (352x480).

    Two fixes I came across:

    1) Use Ulead DVD Movie Factory to encode rather than Nero. For some reason the Ulead works, Nero doesn't.

    2) Check out: http://www.vcdhelp.com/faq.htm#repairmpg

using the TMPGE MPEG Tools to change the header of the file.

I did a demux/remux...but in reading the instructions I may have just been able to remux to a new file. The demux/remux (SVCD), Nero noncompliant SVCD plays fine on the Apex.

The CVD file at http://www.vcdhelp.com/svcd plays fine on my Apex as well. It as a MPEG2 file with a MPEG1 header.

WWay ( http://www.vcdhelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=119153 ) gave me this advice as well. I didn't try the MPEG1 since I MPEG2 method worked.

    good luck!
