    Hi

I've downloaded various vids from the net to my laptop, they play fine.

But now on my phone they are way too small? I've tried enlarging the files using online apps etc and checking the phone settings (also one of the files actually is big- 16:9 1280 etc), but each time I try, the video seem tiny?

Enlarging the files? All the usual video players (VLC, XPlayer, etc) by default, scale the video to fit the screen.
    Try Xplayer

Could you post a screenshot (or just take a photo of the screen with another phone and post that)?

You should be able to set the display type to for example, Stretch, Crop, 100%, Fit To Screen. try those to see if your video fills the srceen.

Are you viewing the files themselves or are they on a webpage?

    Hi

It's a Samsung S5, tried video settings but can't seem to set nor see stretch-to-fit?

Samsung Galaxy S5 is terrible for video editing, but pretty handy for day to day activities. I'm working a steward job and it's pretty cool that I can put my phone in a pocket without worring that it will stick out of it.
