Hi, I have recently suffered a HDD crash but managed to recover most of my data. The only problem is that quite a few of my Mpeg Vids have been recovered with the first section as erronous data, just a stream of nothing.
This means of course that any player looks at the first frames and says something along the lines of data offset error or other and will not play the files. Does anyone know of a way to edit these files to remove the error data to leave me with the good video? Most editing programs still report there is an error because they still expect to see some sort of video stream in the first few blocks.
I need a program that will either show me a representation of where video is and is not so I can edit, or a program that will search out for video in a pile of debris.
Help is gratefully welcomed.
Idi
