You probably need the referer field when you make the page request. Maybe other custom header fields. Use Developer Tools (F12) to view the network traffic and packet headers. Then you can use a tool like youtube-dl or streamlink to download.

Had a look at and it does look like it's downloading small packets when the video plays.will YouTube dl or streamline work on a protected Vimeo video?
