And the Direct Show is set as the highest priority?
Hello. -
Are you trying to cut them with mpeg tools, or to recode them? If the latter you need to run them through DVD2AVI to get to a format TMPG can handle. Look to the left for the guide about converting SVCD to VCD.right im trying to get tmpgenc to take mpeg 2 files from a svcd

You need to have a handler for mpeg2 files in tmpg. It's called m2v_vfp-0.4.6.zip and I thought I found it here but looked again and I'm not sure e-mail me and I'll send it back if you want.

direct show is set as highest priority, i have downloaded the file m2v_vfp-0.4.6.zip and put that in the directory and still not happening.
Banjazzer when u said i will need to run it through DVD2AVI do you mean i will need to convert it to avi and then back to mpeg?
Anyway below is the error and the vfapi screenshot.

You still have not said whether your aim is to cut and join, or to encode! if the latter, the purpose of running through DVD2AVI is to let it act as frameserver to TMPG. You save a project in DVD2AVI, with the *demux all tracks* set for the audio. You end up with a .d2v and an .mpa file, which will load directly into TMPG. -- As per the guide for converting SVCD to VCD, even if you don't want to encode to VCD!Banjazzer when u said i will need to run it through DVD2AVI do you mean i will need to convert it to avi and then back to mpeg?

sorry banjazzer my aim is to join the 3 mpg files from the 3cd svcd release then split it in two so i have two files of an equal size the encode each of the two files with a less botrate so it will fit on 2 cd's
-
Then you first use TMPG's mpeg tools, Merge and cut (Type MPEG-2 Video-CD) to produce 2 mpegs. You can then do as I suggest with DVD2AVI to feed to TMPG to recode them at a lower bitrate. I would suggest going to VCD, because SVCD at low bitrate does not look too good, and you can get 80 minutes VCD per disc.
