  1. Hello guys,

I have few bluray disks and i am encoding them to x265 codec but the problem is in dark scenes the quality starts to get bad. what are the settings that i can use to make it better?

What program and settings are you using? (Most important question.)

Dark scene noise is usually too low of bitrate. 900K sounds like really low quality for BD conversion, even with X265.
Some encoding programs have 'De-Blocking filters' which may improve noise levels in dark areas, but at the cost of lowered quality.

  3. Try:
    - 10 bit encoding
    - --aq-mode 3 (is biased for dark scenes)
    - increase bitrate (lower crf)

Using Handbrake and vidcoder. Does using De-blocking filters increase encoding time as my CPU is really slow when it comes to encoding.

Suggest a good encoding software too. Thanks

  6. It depends how many of those dark scenes you have.
