do you know why youtube doesnt give caption subs anymore from any videos?
I downloaded yesterday for the 1st time, today it says we cant find automatic captions

possible scenarios
1, youtube blocked all sub downloading since today
2. youtube is fixing the problem
3. it happens on and off so try it later
4. youtube-dl.exe doesnt work at whim

There's a difference between the automatically generated subs and the "normal" subs.

Why youtube-dl only downloads one variant I don't know. Maybe bug or maybe feature. If in doubt ask youtube-dl developers.

Before you draw such conclusions always try the same video you tested last time.

5. The YouTube user(s) disabled or removed the captions from the video(s).

EDIT: Okay, I see the captions are still there through YouTube interface. Are you using latest version of youtube-dl?
