    Both.

    VirtualDub for clipping commercials/filtering/other random .avi tasks and CCE or TMPGenc for encoding.

    Yeah, I use both. Vdub to capture and Tmpg to convert to Mpeg.

    Since VirtualDub and TMPGEnc do different things you need them both.

    VirtualDub is a linear AVI editor + video capture program + frameserving.

    TMPGEnc is an MPEG encoder + limited MPEG Tools.
