  2. If I understand you right, you see a file on your desktop named pithanonvideo.3gpp.tmp? All you have to do is to change the file name to pithanonvideo.3gp

If you only see pithanonvideo.3gpp, just remove the extra P at the end. If you're positive there should be a .tmp at the end, you will have to go to Control Panel - Folder Options and remove the check mark from "hide extension of known file types", then you will be able to see all the extensions and change them.

with bs player sais this.............BS.Player cannot play the media file.
You don't have necessary codec installed, file may damaged or not media file.

Click 'Find codec' to try to find codec.

another messaga of gom player is this..............
There are a number of possible reasons why the codec you require could not be located:

The file you are attempting to play / convert may not be an audio or video file.
The file you are attempting to play / convert may corrupted/damaged.
The codec you require may not be freeware/shareware, and therefore we cannot provide you with a download link or additional information.
Our database may simply not be able to determine which codec you need based on the information it received.

You said the file was deleted and you recovered it, recovering a file is never guaranteed to work, it's possible your file was only partially recovered. Try playing it with VLC. Also, post the mediainfo details in tree mode.

  13. When you view a file in tree view with mediainfo you should see something that looks like this, notice the extra details about Video and Audio after General. What I'm interested in is the duration of the video, the bitrate, CODEC and resolution. An 80 MB video is either low res, low bitrate or really short. Anything else and that would mean you have an incomplete recovery.

  19. Sorry mate, haven't seen the PM, yesterday was October 31st; party time. Try Recuva, if the file you want to recover has red dot next to it, it's gone and there's nothing you can do. If it's yellow, it's partially overwritten, but there's a small chance that some of it is playable. In both cases it doesn't bode well.

Was this video recorded by a security camera (cctv)? If it was you might need a specific player to view the video. All the cctv DVR's I've seen will include the player with the footage when the video is exported. You need that player.
