    Hi
I'm trying to record from the SBS On Demand website in Australia and am flummoxed. I've tried many of the suggestions on various threads here but they don't work with the way SBS are encrypting the stream.
If anyone can help I'd be extremely grateful. I've tried various software too (on Mac OSX 10.6.8) but none of them work either.

The stream I'm trying to get is:
    http://www.sbs.com.au/ondemand/video/546856515548
It's the Rocky Horror Show Live (as broadcast on BBC America but without the 'bleeps').

Any suggestions would be very welcome, especially if someone can come up with a link I can put into a download manager!
    Thanks

(I WILL be sharing this if I can get it so you can hear Frank say the 'F' bomb)

  2. Thank you for posting that info. Had no idea this special existed and it's still on my BBC America on demand channel which means I can record it. No clue if the on demand is censored, but if so might be easier to record the uncensored words from your SBS link and just over dub them onto the other version

Thanks Mazinz. Unfortunately the US broadcast and BBC America website versions are both censored. Example: at 1:07:34 "The transducer will seduce her. It's something you'll get used to. A mental, mind f-BLEEP can be nice". Talk about ruining an otherwise great filming
In Oz, as in the UK it's UNcensored. But nobody in the UK has had the grace to share a rip of the SkyArts broadcast... yet anyway. And my TiVo screwed up on the nite

Maybe because I am in the US I cannot view this. The site sits there and does nothing. The video wont start, the buttons do not respond, I pretty much disabled everything on my end but no dice with that SBS url you posted

Yes, the site is geoblocked. You need to use a proxy to get around that. I'm on Mac, with Chrome and have had good success with TunnnelBear and Hola - but you need to use one or the other. You can install both but only activate one plugin at a time. I'm still working on this... we have til 3 December before SBS pull the video.

  7. I snagged the BBC America version last night. What an amazing show they put on. Should also note it ran roughly 1hr 44 mins and not 1hr 40mins unless it has to do with the PAL/NTSC issue. At any rate if you can view this at all, anyway you can use the pc ( record what you hear option) and just record the audio of the 3-4 parts which were censored in my BBC version? I can then edit the audio stream here with those bits so we could have a fully uncensored audio which I can then mix back with the BBC picture

Hey. Great idea. I can definitely snag the audio. The time difference would be because the original was recorded in PAL format (25 fps) and the BBC America broadcast is at NTSC standard (23.97... fps). I'm sure it wouldn't make a difference in dubbing in the very few bleeped audio sections. If it's OK I'll PM you once I have the audio down with a link. It's be great to have a full HD version with the uncensored audio! Let me know. Thanks.

And with the censored BBC America audio (in fact the google search 1080 and 720 ones are all sourced from the BBC Amercia airings with wonderful bleeps). The Australian SBS version does not have the censor beeps and working behind the scenes we may be all set to fix this

beeps are only for certain words, quickest example in the one you have there, listen at 1:07:30 seconds they bleep the F word at 32 seconds. Cheers

  14. After long google search and test many so called SBS download.

I finally find Allavsoft is the best one to download video from SBS on demand, ABC iView, Tenplay, etc

It has both Mac and Windows version.

The only debut is that it only allows to download 5 videos for free. But it is enough for your use.

You may get it from http://www.allavsoft.com/how-to/sbs-on-demand-download.html

Hope it also helps for you.

I like its batch downloading and fast download speed and also its directly download video to any video or audio format.

    Just have a free trial
