RF to Composite RCA Converter - Does such a beast exist???

I've seen lots of converter boxes on the market that will convert RCA composite video and audio to RF channel 3 or 4. My question is if the reverse is available----a box that will convert channel 3 RF to RCA composite (Yellow, Red & White) or S-Video?

If so, can someone point me in the right direction where?

This is what's known as a TUNER (aka receiver).

When I tried that, the search results were mainly links to RF modulators to use for converting composite video and analog stereo input to RF out on NTSC channel 3 or 4.

Happily, there was one link to a YouTube video demonstrating how to use an old VCR to convert RF from older game consoles to composite video and analog stereo.

You need an analog TV tuner. I think this will work:

They are hard to find now because there is almost no analog TV broadcast in the USA now.

Using a vcr is the cheapest method,the other products such as tuners and rf to composite cost over $100 whereas a vcr can be bought at your local thrift shop for $5.

Yes.

Just make sure you get one that works in E-to-E mode (aka bypass, or "NOT needing to actually be recording in order to work"). Then you're just using the TUNER section of the VCR (like I said in post #2).
