My DVD plays on computers and DVD players, but not in a car DVD player. Why is that? And how do I burn my dvd that it should play in a car DVD player? I really would appreciate an answer to my question!

What software did you use to burn the DVD, and what type (DVD+R, DVD-R, DVD+R DL, DVD-RW, DVD+RW, DVD-RAM) and brand of DVD (Verbatim, Sony, Memorex, Maxell, etc.) did you use? Does the DVD contain a VIDEO_TS folder with IFO BUP, and VOB files, or is this a DivX file?

I used AVS video editor. The disk is a DVD-R, Limage. The DVD contains a VIDEO_TS folder with IFO, BUP and VOB files. Would love if you can help me solve this problem!!

Some players are just really picky about burned discs. You can try using better quality discs, like Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim AZO. Burn them at a moderate speed, say 8x if you are using an internal burner in a desktop, or 4x if using a laptop drive.
If you are using AVS video editor to do the burns as well as make the DVD-video, I'd output to the hard drive instead, then burn with ImgBurn. -
MediaInfo is the easiest way, but many computer players will tell you the same info somewhere in their settings. Reload it in the computer DVD player software that you checked it's playability in and look for info.
Is this an aftermarket car player? Many players available "online" are cheap for a reason.....they are PAL being sold in and NTSC country.
Is the source file from "online" somewhere? It could be a PAL source.
The fact that this disc plays in your home player makes the PAL Scenario less likely however, unless you have a converting DVD player and are unaware of it. -
i checked it with the software you recomended, it is a ntsc disk. note that this disk is not playing in a few different car dvd players. these are pretty new cars.

720 x 480 is NTSC(North America)
720 x 576 is PAL(rest of the world - mostly) -
If the radio came with the car, and it was bought in America....it should be NTSC....it BETTER be NTSC...

This dvd player plays all other proffesionally produced dvds, but not my home produced one.

OK....two things then.
1) Easy fix.....burn the discs with ImgBurn (as mentioned above).
2) Not so easy....the car player MAY require a region code on the disc, in your case region 1. This is rare and quite unlikely.
Of not....there are plenty of free alternatives to what you are using right now to "author" the DVD. If this is some sort of internet "file" that you have converted to a playable DVD...look into alternative software. -
Or basically your car dvd player will not ever play home burned dvds.

My advice would be the same as that from Kerry56, which you are unwilling to try.
However, some DVD players do have problems reading burned media (especially poor quality media like you are using) as they age. Sometimes it can be just a dirty lens, which might be fixed by a lens cleaning disc if the problem is not too severe. Other times the laser is failing. -
You haven't told us yet what the actual model of your player is - it could be a simple matter of it not supporting burned discs at all.

Have you tried burning a dvd+r with booktype set to dvd-rom?
