Mono sound in VirtualDub using WinTV

I can not seem to get VirtualDub to record in stereo even though I have a nicam stereo winTV card. I get stereo sound in the WinTV app, but no joy in VDub, just mono! Here's my comp setup, if it helps:

1800xp,
60gig hard drive,
256MB SDRAM,
Soundblaster Live! Value,
Nvidia Geforce 3 Ti 500,
WinTV.

Any ideas??????
