Audio sync problem

I am a newbie so I am not sure I am in the right place but here goes. When I play a DVD what arrives on my TV is not in audio sync. I don't have a smart TV so there is no sync adjustment there. My DVD player runs thru my AV Rcvr(ONyko TX-NR535) via HDMI cable then from Rcvr to TV via HDMI cable plus an optical cable. I have a set of 5 Energy speakers plus a subwoofer. Is there any way to fix this problem without buying another piece of expensive gear?
