I finally figured out how to capture SVCD compliant (almost) MPEG-2 files with my ATI AIW Radeon. After demuxing/remuxing with TMPGEnc, Nero 5.5.3.5 accepts the MPG file without any complaints into its SVCD template.
I've tried two different files, burning them onto PNY silver 80 min. CDR media and niether of them are starting properly when I take them to the closest store and try them in a variety of DVD players (Apex, Hitachi, etc) which are reputed to be very flexible in what CD's they'll play. The files are 2300 Kbps video bitrate and 224 audio bitrate, FWIW.
Anyone know of anything "special" that needs to be done when selecting the SVCD template in Nero, other than dragging and dropping a compliant MPG file onto the file list?
Any help appreciated. Thanks.
