Copy Inhibited

I am trying to capture a VHS tape onto my Digital8 tape through my Sony VCR to my Sony Digital Camcorder. And it says Copy Inhibited. What can I do to get around this? I simply want to archive my video (even though it is an Spors Video).

What can I do to get around this and capture the Video (VHS)?

Seems to be macrovision copy protection.I can capture copy protected vhs-tapes with my capturecard,and then put them back to tape.So if you have one, try it.

There is no way I can disable this copy inhibiting on my digital camera? No way I can fool it?

The problem is I dont have a capture card

a TBC or macrovision cleaner can cost betweeen $50-$1000 depending on the quality and the input/outputs. TBC's are more expensive because they are more complex image stabilization hardware ( great for capturing or re-taping VHS ).

For some reason when I turn on the VHS tape right away and start snapping images or trying to captrure an mpeg, it captures the first 4 seconds...and from then on it says COPY INHIBITED.

I wonder if there is anyway to trick this camera or remove it without buying any extra programs ?

do you have a Hi8 around ? macrovision doesnt work on Hi8 .. copy tape to Hi8 and then go from there ... other than that and prev suggesttions here - i dont know.

The cheapiest and the easiest way is to buy a capture card,believe me.It's about 40-60 dollars or something like that.And optional you will get a lifetime hobby with digital video(capturing,converting,vbr,cbr,vcd,svcd,xvcd,d ata rates etc.)Join the club.
