First of all, sorry, I don't know much about this ripping stuff
I use MakeMKV to convert iso and/or BDMV folders to .mkv to watch them on TV. Have done quite a few rips, and most of the time it worked flawlessly. But now I found 1 movie and I can't understand whats wrong. I know it's probably TV's fault but I want to know why some mkv's work and some don't. TV - Panasonic TX-42ASE650
ALSO the original m2ts file plays fine, but it has dtshd audio, and my hometheater plays only DTS and makemkv did exactly what I needed when the file worked. Any other solutions how to deal with this?
This works
Aand, this doesn't Thats what I get playing some mkv's (I get these from other releases)Code:General Unique ID : 156952967372225385876604060656374591023 (0x76140ABEB1ACC2D78A2C336F67CF2E2F) Complete name : H:\Shared\*****.mkv Format : Matroska Format version : Version 2 File size : 28.1 GiB Duration : 1h 41mn Overall bit rate mode : Variable Overall bit rate : 39.5 Mbps Movie name : ***** Encoded date : UTC 2014-12-30 13:57:20 Writing application : MakeMKV v1.7.8 win(x64-release) Writing library : libmakemkv v1.7.8 (1.2.0/1.1.0) win(x64-release) Video ID : 1 Format : AVC Format/Info : Advanced Video Codec Format profile : Stereo High@L4.1 / High@L4.1 MultiView_Count : 2 Format settings, CABAC : Yes Format settings, ReFrames : 3 frames Codec ID : V_MPEG4/ISO/AVC Duration : 1h 41mn Bit rate mode : Variable Bit rate : 36.8 Mbps Maximum bit rate : 29.8 Mbps Width : 1 920 pixels Height : 1 080 pixels Display aspect ratio : 16:9 Frame rate mode : Constant Frame rate : 23.976 fps Color space : YUV Chroma subsampling : 4:2:0 Bit depth : 8 bits Scan type : Progressive Bits/(Pixel*Frame) : 0.740 Stream size : 26.2 GiB (93%) Language : English Default : No Forced : No

Yes, tried updating makemkv, no difference. I don't have bluray player, and I use Serviio to stream the files to Tv, so I don't see how burning the ISO would help.
I'll use mkvmerge and/or tsMuxer when Makemkv won't work I guess. Its just annoying that I can't see whats wrong from file info, before downloading other 30gb remuxes -
The problem is that your d/l other peoples rips which means anything can be wrong with them.
I think,therefore i am a hamster.
