  1. I have create an SVCD but at playback on a stand-alone DVD video and audio are not synchronized anymore.
I used TMPGENC 12i to encode the MPEG2 (PAL format) and Nero 5.5.3.5 to burn the SVCD. (I added a menu with Nero in case that should matter.

I am quit new in this, but as far as I know I followed the exact instructions as given in the "How to" section on this site.
When I check the MPEG2 on my PC (as far as possible) video and audio ARE synchronized. Does it have to do with the burning process, or maybe the DVD-player?

Any help would be very welcome,
    Thanks !

TMPGenc does not produce svcd compliant files. You can never be guaranteed that your svcds will play in sync on your dvd player if they are exported directly from TMPGenc to your burning program.

What you need to do is demultiplex in TMPGenc, (file/mpeg tools/simple demultiplex.) you will get an mp2 file and an m2v file. now get the latest version of bbmpeg (tools section) and use it to multiplex your audio and video back together. Dont forget to set it to SVCD in settings. Try burning on cdrw to test it. If its still not in sync try setting mux rate to 0 in bbmpeg. If its still off then uncheck "Add SVCD scan offsets" and "Allign sequence headers."

If your still getting sync problems than it could be caused by dvd2avi, which I assume your probably using. You may want to try a different method of audio encoding and only use dvd2avi to frameserve the video to TMPGenc. I use graphedit to do a surround sound downmix instead of dvd2avi, maybe give it a try. You can find a guide on how to use this method at http://www.doom9.net.
