Does anyone have a preference for VHS tapes? I've found the Sony V Premium Grade to be good... even after re-recording over it.
What's the max number of times anyone has used a tape and still had a good recording?
Has anyone noticed much difference in quality between EP and SP times?
There are shows I record while at work and I'd like to start saving some to CD, so I'm interested in how often a tape can be used to record acceptable capturing quality. I'm using standard VHS now, hope to upgrade to an SVHS recorder before too long.

Sony are good but I like JVC better and always record in the SP mode if plan to archive the program later, also make sure to either get a panasonic or JVC SVHS machine and nothing else. Until I got my 2 DVD recorders recently I used nothing but JVC SVHS Machines for the past 12 years. They last forever, I gave my 7 year old SVHS machine to my 14 year old son recently, hey allready have 3 more editing decks anyway.
