For some reason the version of Nero I have will only let me write at 8x or higher. Is there a version of Nero that excepts bin/cue files that writes at 4x or lower? Thanks Will

Why do you have to write at lower speed, if you writer support high speed and if your player can play the disc with high speed burning. sorry that I asked becuz you didn't give enough detail.
I always burn at 16X speed all the time and so far I haven't seen any problem with my player. my wirter is lite-on 32x12x40, media is FUJI 24x certified. -
It is recommend to write at 4x or lower when doing svcd's. My first svcd I have done has some glitching probably due to me writing at 8x. I also have a lite-on 32x12x40. I just need software that will let me write at 4x or less and accepts cue/bin files. thanks Will

I understand problem at 8x speed. I was too having this problem when write at lower speed and at max speed. It might be a media or something I'm not so sure but audio or vcd/svcd kind of not perfect as it should be. So I burn at 16X-24X and everythings play just fine. There is no such rule to burn at only 4X, if your player can handle vcd burn at high speed why dont you take avantage of high speed burner that you spent money for.
All this is up to you, what is best for me might not best for you. So all I can say is good luck
Oh forget to answer your question. try creat bin/cue file and burn with something elses that you can choose lower speed like, cdrwin, nero burn image, burnatonce, blindwrite. -
It's not a Nero fault/bug. It's the chipset limitation of your Lite-on CDRW drive. It's minimum CD-R write speed is 8x,& I think its minimum CDRW write speed is 4x.
It varies writer to writer, for example the Asus 4012A (40x12x48),is capable of minimum 4x CD-R speeds & 2x CDRW,up to the maximum depending on your media being used. -
You might be wrong Hong Kong. I'm burnning at 4x speed right now with my Lite-on 32x and Nero 5.5.9.0. Anyway I cannot choose lower speed than 4x, thou. However I think I can choose to burn image (bin/cue) files with Burnatonce at speed 1x-32x, I see all the selecting speed when open the program.

I use steinberg vob instantcd/dvd 6.5 and it allows you to go down too X1, and I find that speed is related to quality even using disks rated at X24.
