  1. I'm trying to help a friend by remote control, so please bear with me...

He's trying to convert a PAL DVD (movie) to an NTSC DVD-R.

I helped him through the process of ripping the DVD, extracting the AC3 file, and re-encoding the MPEG at 23.976fps, including applying pulldown.exe to the resulting video file (4.3GB).

Then he ran the audio through BeSweet (using the AC3Machine front end GUI) to convert the framerate from "25000" to "23976."

But now, when he tries to import the m2v/ac3 pair of files, it gives him a "Media Detection Error" on the AC3 file. I've tried the same process on my machine, using a different PAL DVD...although my DVD is of some 30-minute video program(me)s, rather than film, so it was just an experiment...and I had no such problem with SpruceUp.

Is this possibly a WindowXP thing? He's using XP and I'm using Windows ME. Or perhaps SpruceUp has problems with files over 4GB? Otherwise, are there any ideas out there?
