2 questions now that the ouya is out in the open or will be shortly -
1 - are there x264 encoders for the android os?
2 - can you set up the ouya to become a x264 encoder?
I know you'd need to use a usb harddrive but that isn't a problem for me.
Would this be practical?
In other words if I remember right this is a tablet level quad core processor, would that be faster than my aging amd dual core desktop pc? (its more than four years old I believe so its antiquated by todays standards obviously).
I'll start browsing the net for specifics on these questions. If anyone has knowledge already please pass it along.
Edit - apparently there is some encoder called omx ducati for ics 4.04 for android.
And I might have misread it but apparently there is h264 encoding already on the ouya. However that might just be for recording your video games. I don't know as I haven't done much reading on it just yet.
If there is one encoder there must be more I'm presuming. It would be nice if there was an equivalent of ripbot or handbrake for android, ie something I"ve used before.
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays!
