Hi Guys, can anyone help me in converting 16:9 MKV Blu-ray rips to 2.35:1? The reason i want to try this is i have a scope projector screen and rather than having to zoom down and have the black bars at the sides i want to try this.

Here is what i would like to do as an example: http://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=204946

    Thanks for any help.

Titanic's original aspect ratio is "1.85:1". If you convert 2.35:1, then look pressed.

Or crop vertical, but this is not good solution.

  3. The 2D BR release of Titanic is 2.35:1. Easiest solution is to get that. If you crop top and bottom there is no guarantee the framing will be accurate. The original film was shot Super 35 and both the flat-widescreen and scope versions were re-frames from the original negative.

Cropping will require re-encoding which, as Hikmet has suggested, will result in some loss of quality.
