So I just put Tmpgenc on my new laptop and installed the k-lite codec pack, but when I try to open and encode any files it only displays the very last frame of video, and when it finishes encoding it will just be a file with X minutes of the very last frame of the video I'm trying to encode. Oddly enough it does detect and encode all the audio, so its basically the correct audio overtop of the last frame of the video.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling various stuff with no luck so far.
Anyone any idea whats going on? I'm using a Lenovo laptop if thats any help.
I should specify its tmpgenc 2.5.

what should I use instead? Is that what will actually fix the problem or are you just saying get rid of it because it sucks?

If it sucks and you know it sucks, why don't you get rid of it? KLite causes problems wherever it goes. Some time ago I installed Klite, removed it 15 minutes later and had to reinstall several actually useful and important codecs before anything worked again.
If you are using 2.5's wizard, that can cause problems as well. Learn to use the advanced interface.Last edited by sanlyn; 26th Mar 2014 at 06:15.

I dont know if it sucks or not, Im a pretty amateur user. If theres something else better out there I'm all for it.

You should install only the codecs you need, and install the proper ones. No one can tell you all the possible codecs out there, but you don't need them all.
And, yes, klite sucks. Even if some of its codecs work, it contains others that don't work or which interfere with the "proper" guys. If you search the forum, you'll see plenty of complaints about klite.Last edited by sanlyn; 26th Mar 2014 at 06:15.

FLV is the most "dead-end" format/container ever developed. It's easy to convert normal video to FLV, but very very difficult to get anything useable FROM an FLV file. TMPGenc is probably not going to touch it without going to an intermediate file first.....which is also a problem nowadays since my favorite program to do that with became a spyware riddled POS.

TMPGENC Plus 2.5 is an MPEG encoder, and happens to be a pretty good one. While there might be some free tools around that will encode FLV, you should know that FLV = Adobe Flash Video, and Adobe doesn't give away freebies to freeware makers. You can export FLV with Premiere and After Effects, and probably Sony Vegas, and possibly you can find an FLV SDK development kit somewhere. Maybe other members will chime in here on FLV encoding. I have Adobe AE, but have never used its FLV feature.
I have no idea what's going on with your copy of TMPGenc. I've been using it and several other TMPGenc products for 14 years, and know many people who use it as well. but I've never encountered that problem or seen it mentioned.Last edited by sanlyn; 26th Mar 2014 at 06:15.
