how to clip video from itunes to stream (legally!)

Hi all,

I am desperate and a newbie. I am in academia, and I have movies that I've downloaded from itunes that I want to clip and insert into a prezi. This is legal http://www.insidehighered.com/news/2010/07/28/copyright but I cannot for the life of me get it to work. I have tried to convert the files using various DRM removal software programs, but get only audio. I can't figure out how to clip the m4v, but it looks like prezi's only requirement is a filesize limitation - which shouldn't be a problem, if I could clip.

Any help? I spent hours in the rabbit hole and am coming up short. I will pay for the program (I've already paid for a few that haven't worked).

I have not heard about any programs that can remove DRM from iTunes video files. You might have to capture the screen as you playback the files. I have used CamStudio for similar projects but not in this specific application.

dumb question, but will capturing the screen also capture the audio?

Yes you normally set the program to capture stereo mix, which will be the output you hear on your speakers. Also please be aware that CamStudio now contains ad-ware.

Generally people on this forum will suggest Windows PCs this since there is generally more software available for windows.

It is best to do this on the machine most able to smoothly handle the Playback + ScreenCap + Encoding duties' throughput, regardless of platform.
