  1. Hi!
I have an avi-file, which consists of multiple short films (no chapters as it's an avi) - now I'm looking for a tool, that scans the file for black screens (the single shortfilms are seperated by these black screens).
I g**gle'd, looked thru VHs tools section - no success.
    Can anybody please help me?
    Best regards..

I don't know any that do it automatically but you can use avidemux. Set the video and audio to "copy" and select the in and out spots you want to keep then save the video to a new file.

I think there are "commercial cutting" tools that are supposed to scan videos for breaks and take out commercials from captured tv shows. However I have not used them so I don't know how accurate they are. It may still need manual intervention to make sure you get the right spots.
Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?

  3. Thanx for your answer, but i would have to manually seek the black screens with this tool (there are other tools, to do that - but all manually - as far as I know)..

Go to the tools section and search for the word "commercials".
I can almost guarantee you won't like what you see.

  5. There is a bit of a learning curve to avisynth, but there are some scripts that can detect black frames, and write to a text file. You can run an analysis pass in vdub for example
