Hi all!
So I have this old cartoon in MKV with English audio. I have VHS of the same cartoon and would like to rip it, and insert that synchronized audio as the second one.
How do I do all the sync considering no video editing program supports opet formats?
I used to do that in premiere few years a go but then I worked with avi, and I don't really want to ruin this by turning it into avi

To mux in a new track use avidemux. You would use copy for the video portion and select the audio tab in the menu and select external ac3 (it supports ac3 mp3 and wav but there is a probably a different version of avidemux that will import aac or dts as well - but those can also be converted to ac3 if avidemux does not have that ability).
MKV is just a container. When you say "old cartoon" that lends me to believe this might just be a basic standard def divx or xvid video. If so demux the video (mkvtoolnix for example) and load that into premiere assuming that handles divx. It might be h264 video if it is a more recent creation (the video file that is). If so you would need an editor that can work with h264. I'm sure there is a version or a plugin for premiere to do that.
Edit - use gspot or mediainfo to open the video file and identify the video and audio codecs that were used to make the video.Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw? -
