So I'm getting a new pc with usb3.0, and have ordered an external 3.0 drive for storage. I'm giving my wife my current pc, and figured I'd add a usb3.0 card to speed up her backups as well. Has anyone installed usb3.0 PCIe card, any issues, and what brand/card should I get?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

I have a question about the internal usb3.0 port? I was looking at the pc I plan on putting this in, the usb cables that are in there now, that run to the front of the pc do not have that coonection end. It has a thin molex type connector that connects to the mobo. How would I connect these cables to the new usb3.0 card so the usb ports on the front of pc will now be 3.0 and not the 2.0 as they are now?

I have the Rosewill RC-505 and it works fine for me. Have had it for 6 or 7 months I think. Not 1 issue. Speeds are as advertised and the brand chip they use onboard is Renasas.

You can't use those cables from the from of the PC with a USB 3 card unless you have USB 3 coming from the front of the case and if the card itself has that cable header built into it. This card has it. If the front cables don't look like the "18/19 pin" (black input on the card) slot on the pictures of this one then you have a USB 2 front connection.

Yes the usb ports on the front are currently 2.0, how would I go about making those 3.0 from the internal usb3.0 port on the card?

the physical hardware plugs are different for usb3. you'd have to replace the faceplate of the computer.
