  1. Hi guys, I started "Conner Productions" this summer, which I will be launching Early 2013. Basically what we do, is provide a collection of Motion Templates for Final Cut Pro that people can use. We create a demo video for each video, showing off all the templates within (title, transitions and effects) in order to show people what the templates are capable of and hopefully "generate some buzz." I was wondering if you guys (and girls) had any suggestions or recommendations. I would really appreciate it. Also, I've been working on a Video Editing Infographic Here and if you guys had any suggestions, that would be awesome. By the time we launch, I hope to have at least 4 or 5 packages from people to choose from, any ideas?

You want to sell pre-built FX? What do you mean by "Motion Templates"?

Yes, pre built effects like titles, transitions and effects for FCP that people can implement.

I get it. A project file, and the customer swaps in their own media, yeah?

    Does anyone do that now?

AFA ideas, I do have some, and I'm also trying to build up things that can be reused, instead of starting from zero on every project.

So far what I found useful is a collection of simple basic building blocks, like stars, hearts, leaves, coins, etc., etc., also including abstract material like colored shapes, and symbols, like "motif" material.

So I create the motif first using standard practices, like using complementary, as well as contrasty materials. Then I overlay the subject matter in a unique, popping, but pleasing, style.

I like to animate still sequences, using my own custom transitions. I have some killer moves that really make boring shots pop .......[brb]

Kind of, except that it's the actual effects, not the project files, plus they're extremely customizable. The demo video just "shows off" the effects. I want to create more advanced, professional looking effects though. I find the starts, hearts, etc too cheesy and obnoxious. My main competitor at this point would be MotionVFX, however I plan on making effects that are a little more simple and more applicable to different types of projects.

So you say it's a 32 bit, RGBA file? Ready for compositing?

They're .moti files, which can be used from inside FCP.
