What's the best streaming media format to capture based on needs below? I'm confused with so many streaming video formats out there. And what's the best capture software to capture the video we'll be streaming?
I'm looking for good video/audio quality and good compression since we'll have hundreds of videos (1-2+ hrs long) in our media server. Also, a format that is compatible with all operating systems (Windows/Mac O/S's, etc.) and can be streamed in as many devices as possible (PC/Mac, iPhone/Android/Windows mobile devices, iPad/Android tablets, etc.). Although we know it's not possible to secure 100%, but we do not want to allow easy downloading of these videos.
