Subtitle text from file A + times from file B

Hi!

I really need to combine 2 srt files, when one has good subtitles and the other one has good times.
I have tried this with Aegisub, Subtitle Workshop and VisualSubSync, but apparently it´s not possible.
Could somebody please help? It´s VERY important.

This kind of project generally has to be handled by a custom computer program. You're not going to want to hear this, but you're basically falling into what the territory of what I call "I want to do something that nobody else in the world wants to do, so why doesn't software exist to allow me to do it?"

I would handle this with a Perl program. No, I'm not offering to write one for you because it would likely take me a couple of hours to do it. I'm just telling you how I would do it.

It would be cumbersome but if this is so incredibly important to you that you cannot live without it I do want to point out that there is nothing to stop you from doing it the low tech way of opening each subtitle file in a separate copy of Word and going back and forth cutting and pasting into a new document. If you set a goal of doing 50 or even 100 lines a day, you'll finish it soon enough on your own.

OH, of course I guess that many people need to do this. That´s why I think there must be a quicker solution.

I need to time around 1000 subtitles DAILY, apart from translating them. That´s why copy paste is not a solution, and that´s why it´s so important to solve it.

Your inability to recognize how unusual this is part of the issue. Did it not occur you to this is NOT a normal request? And most people DON'T need to do this?

Apparently it is possible. I've read AlanHK saying it's possible using Subtitle Workshop. I don't have it installed, but at the developer's website it says:

"Read times from file" feature, to fix a subtitle using another subtitle's times.

Therefore my suggestion is to read the manual.

OK, it´s working now!! It´s read TIMES from file (the alternative option), instead of read TEXTS from file... Thanks so much, manono!!
