I'm a noob at this and i need a bit of help.
I want to know how to upscale standard definition videos (720x576) to at least 720p if not 1080p.
I have seen alot of people talking about using things like ffdshow and virtualdub but I don't know how to use these. I would like to convert cartoon, cgi and live action videos.
I would prefer software that doesn't require too much fiddling around with but I have no problem if it takes a while.
I would prefer if it can convert to 1080p but i am ok if it converts to 720p because my laptop (1920x1080) isn't that bad at upscaling 720p to 1080p
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays!

The general consensus is that upscaling is best left to your Blu Ray player.

Explain to use why you feel the need to do this and perhaps we can better help.

You can check out video enhancer , or vreveal
http://www.infognition.com/videoenhancer/
http://www.vreveal.com/
And there are free methods in avisynth , but there is no real GUI (all scripting)
Don't expect any of them will give you "wow" results
