Greetings, need a little help here. Receiving conflicting advice from a few different sources.
I am viewing cable on my TV
I want to view cable (fox) on a pc monitor (Samsung syncmaster SA350) , then capture and record it.
I have heard that the Hauppauge PVR can achieve this, but others disagree.
Which of these (or others) is the best solution.
The Fox box has a SCART output.
1. Hauppauge
2. Connect Fox to a 2nd monitor, hook that 2nd monitor up to my pc. (is this possible?)
Will video capturing software work on the 2nd monitor?
3. Can i connect a 2nd source to my samsung monitor (it only has an HDMI socket spare once connected to my pc.) I understand HDMI will not help with the analog signal. Is a dual adaptor possible?
If i am viewing fox on my pc, will i also be able to view it on TV at the same time? (there are 2 SCART outputs.)
Thanks in advance.

This will need an Oz response but is SCART the only Fox cable output?
Start with the cable box then explain the cables.Recommends: Kiva.org - Loans that change lives.

there is a yellow (composite?) output, and the scart.
The scart cable out of the box is yellow-white-red into a TV.
As it stands, i have connected the TV to my PC via an hdmi cable - hoping the video capture software could record the vision from the Fox box.
I can use my pc on the TV as a 2nd monitor but of course I need to choose a different source (source button) to watch the Fox vision, and the capturing software I have records the actual desktop, not Fox. I guess that was always going to happen.
Is there a video capture software that can record this different source (not PC) on the TV?
Or is there a way to watch this Fox vision on my PC?
Thanks -
Usually you can't record from the monitor. Your Hauppauge PVR can probably record the yellow-white-red.
